Description
SMK 460 is an early-maturing sunflower hybrid with large seeds, designed for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, Central Volga, Lower Volga, and Ural regions. The plant features medium or tall height without branching, green leaves of medium or large size, and weak blistering. The flowers are ligulate and tubular, yellow in color, with little to no anthocyanin pigmentation on the stigma. The head is of medium or large size and turns downward at maturity; seeds are large, widely oval, black, and without mottling.
Average seed yield varies by region: it reaches 25.6 c/ha in the Central Black Earth region, 21.1 c/ha in the North Caucasus, 20.7 c/ha in the Central Volga region, and up to 32.6 c/ha in the Ural region, particularly in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Fat content in the seeds is up to 53.8%, indicating high-quality oilseed material. The hybrid is recommended for classical, minimum tillage, and No-Till soil processing.
SMK 460 belongs to the moderately intensive type and exhibits resistance to rust (A-G). The vegetative period is approximately 135 days, with late flowering. The mass of 1,000 seeds is about 55.1 g. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions, this hybrid is a beneficial choice for agrarians seeking high yield and quality oil.
