Soyuz

Soyuz is a mid-early hybrid sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) with classic cultivation technology. It is characterized by high drought resistance and resistance to race A–E of downy mildew, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. The plant reaches a height of about 170 cm, is non-branching, has green leaves, and medium pitting. The disc flowers are bright yellow, and the seeds have distinct marginal stripes. The 1000-seed mass varies from 60.9 to 70.3 g depending on the growing region. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in the Ural and West Siberian regions, as well as in the Republic of Bashkortostan and Altai Krai. The vegetative period ranges from 90 to 110 days, with early flowering. The average yield in the Ural region reaches 17.1 c/ha, with maximum yields up to 24.6 c/ha, while in the West Siberian region — 19.8 c/ha, with maximum yields up to 37.0 c/ha. According to the developer, the potential yield is 42–45 c/ha, and the oil content in the seeds is about 47.7%, ensuring high oil content (48–50%). Soyuz is resistant to white mold and moderately resistant to false powdery mildew, and is genetically protected against various races of downy mildew. The recommended sowing rate is 55–60 thousand seeds per hectare. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, the hybrid is suitable for efficient and stable sunflower production in regions with varying agroclimatic conditions.
