Description
The sunflower variety 'Success' is a high-yielding and oil-rich variety, developed by inter-varietal hybridization of the varieties 'Rodnik' and 'Yermak'. It is characterized by early maturity and a shortened vegetation period — from emergence to physiological maturity takes about 115 days, which is 8 days less than the standard variety 'Sкороспелый-87'. The 1000-seed mass is approximately 65.5 g, and the oil content of the seeds reaches 56%, ensuring a high oil yield of up to 1.7 t/ha. The potential yield of the variety can reach 35 centners per hectare, while the average yield in the West Siberian region is about 23.7 centners per hectare.
The variety 'Success' exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases, including false powdery mildew, fomopsis, rust, fusarium, and blossom rot, as well as moderate resistance to white mold. Due to these qualities and high drought tolerance, the variety is well adapted to the conditions of the Ural and West Siberian regions, including the Omsk region. It shows good response to high fertility, allowing for stable and high yields with proper agronomic practices.
'Success' is recommended for cultivation in regions with a moderately continental climate, where early maturity and resistance to adverse factors are important. The high oil content in the seeds and significant oil yield make this variety attractive for the oil industry. Its breeders are Alexander Nikolaevich Puzikov, Ivan Anatolyevich Lozkomoynikov, and Yulia Nikolaevna Suvorova.
