Description
Synthesis is a fast-maturing sunflower hybrid created using classical selection methods at the Scientific-Production Complex 'Altai'. It belongs to the medium-early oilseed varieties with a vegetation period of about 113 days and plant height ranging from 150 to 170 cm. The hybrid exhibits high drought resistance and tolerance to spring frosts, allowing successful cultivation in various agroclimatic zones, including the West Siberian region, Altai Krai, and Omsk Oblast. Seeds contain high oil content — up to 50-52%, and the 1000-seed mass is approximately 72.8 g. The recommended sowing rate is 55-60 thousand seeds per hectare.
The Synthesis hybrid shows resistance to race A-E of downy mildew, moderate resistance to white mold and false powdery mildew, ensuring stable yields and reducing the risk of losses. Plants do not branch, have green leaves and bright yellow disc flowers. Leaf blistering is strongly expressed, and seeds are characterized by clearly defined marginal stripes. Average yield in the West Siberian region reaches 19.7 centners per hectare, with some farms recording yields up to 29.5 centners per hectare.
To achieve maximum productivity, proper fertilization according to the sunflower’s needs for macro- and microelements is recommended. Optimal application rates are 30-60 kg/ha nitrogen, 50-70 kg/ha phosphorus, and 60-80 kg/ha potassium, along with boron and sulfur. The use of complex fertilizers and treatments promotes improved plant growth and resilience, ultimately increasing yield and quality of oilseed raw material.
