TAIZAR — this is a medium-early simple interline hybrid sunflower developed for oilseed use. It has a vegetation period from 111 to 120 days and belongs to the medium-early maturity group. The hybrid has high yield, varying from 20.2 to 45 centners per hectare in different regions, and high oil content in seeds — from 44.7 to 52%, ensuring oil collection up to 1.6 tons per hectare. The 1000-seed mass ranges from 47.4 to 55.9 grams, and the recommended plant stand density at harvest is 50–55 thousand per hectare.
One of the key features of the TAIZAR hybrid is its high resistance to pests. It is resistant to races of broomrape (Orobanche cumana Wallr.) types A–G, as well as to false powdery mildew of sunflower, including races 330, 710, 730, 334 and 734. This resistance is achieved through selective breeding, particularly by using the fertility restorer pollen line VK 305, which contains the Or7 gene providing protection against broomrape.
The TAIZAR hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, Lower Volga, Ural, West Siberian, as well as Belgorod, Omsk regions and Krasnodar Krai. It responds well to high agrofond, enabling stable and high yields under proper agronomy. Due to its characteristics and disease resistance, TAIZAR is a reliable choice for oilseed crop producers.
