Toreador CL — a medium-early hybrid sunflower of new genetics, developed by Viterra Seed for semi-intensive cultivation technologies. It has a vegetation period of 111-114 days and plant height of 170-180 cm. The hybrid is characterized by uniformity at all growth stages and semi-upright head positioning, which facilitates harvesting and high yield. The 1000-seed mass is 59-61 grams, with medium-sized leaves that ensure optimal photosynthetic nutrition for the plant. Toreador CL exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including the latest races of downy mildew and rust strains A-E, as well as false powdery mildew. Thanks to its strong immunity and adaptability, the hybrid consistently shows high yields even under drought and high-temperature conditions. It adapts well to poor soils and can withstand prolonged dry periods both in the soil and in the air, making it a reliable choice for regions with unstable climates. The hybrid is grown using Clearfield Plus technology, which provides effective weed control and helps maintain high productivity. Oil content in the seeds is 49-51%, making Toreador CL attractive for the oilseed industry. High resistance to lodging and stable natural plant mass ensure quality and timely harvest even at planting densities of 50-55 thousand plants per hectare.
