The 'Travel' sunflower hybrid is the V. Ya. Yuryev Institute of Plant Production’s solution to the industry’s demand for stability during short growing seasons. With a maturation period of 80–90 days, it is effectively an ultra-early hybrid, perfect for arid regions or double-cropping systems.

• Advanced Weed Control: Compatibility with imidazolinone herbicides (Euro-Lightning system) allows for effective control of a broad spectrum of weeds and broomrape without relying on complex, expensive tank mixes.
• Biological Defense: The standout feature is its comprehensive resistance. Unlike many classic hybrids, 'Travel' exhibits high tolerance to Phomopsis, a critical advantage in areas with high infection pressure.

Morphology and Yield Potential

The plant reaches a medium height (140–170 cm) with a balanced habit, ensuring efficient mechanical harvesting. Its black, medium-sized, narrow-ovate or spherical-elongated seeds consistently show an oil content between 45% and 50%. Despite the early maturation, the medium-sized head ensures stable seed filling even if summer rainfall is limited.
