UMNIK

The 'UMNIK' sunflower variety is a mid-early hybrid with a classic cultivation technology, designed for the production of linoleic oil. The vegetative period lasts 86-90 days; the plant is tall, reaching 190-210 cm, without branching. The leaves are of medium size, green, with minimal blistering, while the head is large, drooping down with a curved stem. The seeds are of medium size, narrowly ovoid in shape, black in color with faint gray stripes. The variety is characterized by high productivity and improved morphometric traits. UMNIK features high seed oil content, reaching 50.7-54%, which ensures high oil yields up to 1.85 tons/ha. The average yield in the Central Black Earth region is about 25.3 centners/ha, while individual farms achieved yields up to 43.1 centners/ha. The variety surpasses standard indicators for fat content and oil yield, making it profitable for the industrial production of oilseed crops. In addition to high productivity, the variety has enhanced resistance to a range of diseases, including downy mildew, Phoma, rust, Fusarium, and head rot, which contributes to a stable yield under various climatic conditions. UMNIK is recommended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, and Lower Volga regions, confirming its adaptability and reliability in terms of agronomy.
