VA 760 is a simple sunflower hybrid resulting from the selection work of the V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops and Chinese partners. The agronomic value of this hybrid is based on a balance between stable yield and high-quality seed characteristics.

Morphological and Technological Parameters

• Oil Content: The hybrid demonstrates high oil accumulation rates, ranging from 50% to 55%, making it highly attractive for processing plants by minimizing losses during extraction.
• Plant Architecture: The height of the stalk is 90–100 cm. This short stature is a critical advantage for mechanized harvesting, ensuring minimal header losses and lodging resistance even under adverse weather conditions.
• Head Parameters: The medium-sized, flattened shape of the head promotes uniform seed ripening and prevents excessive shattering during the biological maturity phase.
• Seed Material: The black, narrow-ovoid seeds have a medium size, which facilitates the calibration of sieves on planting complexes and grain cleaning lines.

Herbicide Resistance and Intensive Farming

The primary defensive feature of the VA 760 is its tolerance to imidazoline group herbicides (the Clearfield/Euro-Lightning system). This allows farmers to manage a broad spectrum of weeds, including problematic ones like broomrape, while applying post-emergence treatments without the risk of phytotoxicity. Utilizing the Clearfield technology in conjunction with the hybrid's genetic potential ensures clean fields and maximizes soil resource efficiency by eliminating weed competition.
