Description
The 'Sweet Corn' variety, also known as 'Confetta', is an early hybrid with a vegetative period of 70–74 days. Plants reach a height of up to 2 meters and form sturdy ears measuring 17–19 cm long, with densely packed pale yellow kernels. The kernels feature a tender, juicy texture and high sugar content—up to 17%—giving the corn a rich caramel flavor and making it especially sweet and tasty. This corn variety is characterized by high yield and resistance to drought, diseases, and adverse weather conditions. Two ears ripen on each stalk, allowing for significant harvests with minimal effort—up to 120 kg of cobs or 95 kg of grain per hectare. The plant is undemanding in care, making it profitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Sweet Corn is versatile in application: it can be eaten fresh, boiled, baked, frozen, or canned. Due to its low calorie count, lack of gluten, and rich composition including amino acids, proteins, vitamins, and fiber, it is a healthy and delicious product for nutritious eating. For maximum sweetness, ears should be harvested at the milk stage of maturity, while for a continuous harvest, plants should be sown every two weeks from April to May.
