Red Riding Hood

The tulip Red Riding Hood is a decorative variety with bright, wide flowers of intense crimson color, featuring a black spot inside and a carmine hue on the outside. The petals have a glossy, wavy surface and are gathered into cup-shaped buds with a flared base. The plant features a sturdy flower stem, 12 to 30 cm tall, and dark green, lance-shaped basal leaves with distinct burgundy stripes, arranged in a tight rosette. Flowering begins at the end of March and continues until mid-April, making this variety especially attractive for decorating flowerbeds, borders, alpine gardens, and container cultivation.

Red Riding Hood is distinguished by high frost resistance and resistance to diseases and pests, ensuring reliable cultivation under various climatic conditions. For planting, choose sunny spots with well-drained, dry soil. Bulbs are planted in autumn, from September to October, at a depth of 5–15 cm, with spacing of 10–20 cm between bulbs. Thanks to its decorative appeal and long-lasting freshness of blooms, this variety is popular among florists and suitable for cutting.
