Acerentomon doderoi belongs to the order Protura, family Acerentomidae. These tiny, soil-dwelling hexapods typically inhabit moist environments, such as leaf litter, humus, and the upper layers of agricultural topsoil, often going unnoticed due to their microscopic size.

The life cycle of this species includes several nymphal stages, during which the organism gradually adds abdominal segments. Development is slow and strictly dependent on favorable environmental conditions, specifically high soil moisture content and moderate temperatures, which are essential for their survival and reproduction.

While Acerentomon doderoi is not classified as a primary agricultural pest, it can cause damage to sensitive plant parts under specific conditions. They feed on delicate root hairs and young, tender root tissues of germinating seeds and seedling transplants, which weakens the plant's overall vigor.

The impact of this pest is most pronounced in greenhouse environments where overwatering and poor drainage occur. By damaging the integrity of the root system, Acerentomon doderoi creates entry points for various soil-borne pathogens, leading to secondary infections that result in stunted growth or seedling damping-off.

Management strategies focus on cultural control, primarily improving soil drainage and monitoring moisture levels to make the habitat less suitable for these organisms. In extreme cases, the application of targeted soil insecticides or biological control agents, such as entomopathogenic fungi, can be effective in reducing their population density.
