It shows a strong preference for plants within the Fabaceae family, among others. Both nymphs and adults are sap-feeders, piercing the plant tissues and extracting nutrients, which leads to stunted growth and foliage chlorosis.

Biology and life cycle: The life cycle involves egg, nymphal, and adult stages. Females use their ovipositors to insert eggs directly into the young bark of branches. Upon hatching, the nymphs remain in groups, feeding on the tender stems. Their development is closely tied to the availability of succulent growth during the warm season, allowing for significant population build-ups.

Damage patterns: The feeding activity of Aconophora flavipes leads to localized discoloration, tissue necrosis, and deformation of the infested stems.
