The genus Agrypon belongs to the family Ichneumonidae, an important group of parasitoid wasps. In an agronomic context, these insects are essential components of the ecosystem, functioning primarily as biological control agents rather than pests, as they target various larvae that can otherwise destroy crops.
The host range of Agrypon includes several species of Lepidoptera larvae.
