Anaceratagallia ribauti, known as Ribaut's leafhopper, is a significant insect pest belonging to the Cicadellidae family. These insects are characterized by their ability to jump and fly, making them mobile pests that can quickly colonize agricultural fields, particularly those focused on root crop production.
The primary host plants for this species are beets, including sugar beet, red beet, and fodder beet. However, the pest is polyphagous to some extent and can survive on various weeds within the Chenopodiaceae family. These wild host plants often act as critical bridges for the insect's survival during periods when the main crop is not available.
