Description
The grapevine leafminer (Antispila uenoi) is a specialized insect pest belonging to the order Lepidoptera and the family Heliozelidae. This moth species has gained recognition as a significant threat to viticulture due to the damage it causes to the foliage of grapevines.
The primary host plants for this pest include various species of the genus Vitis. As an obligate herbivore, the larva spends almost its entire developmental stage inside the leaf tissue, which makes it particularly difficult to manage using traditional contact insecticides.
