Aphidius ribis

Systematic position: Aphidius ribis belongs to the order Hymenoptera, family Braconidae. It is a highly specialized parasitoid wasp widely recognized as an essential biological control agent against aphid infestations in berry plantations and garden ecosystems.

Target crops: This insect is not a pest; rather, it is a natural enemy of aphid species that typically attack Ribes species, including red, black, and white currants, as well as gooseberries. By targeting these pests, it protects the vegetative growth and yield of various berry crops.
