The fritillary (genus Argynnis) belongs to the Nymphalidae family of butterflies. While widely appreciated by collectors for their aesthetic value, their larval stage is recognized in agriculture as a potential pest, primarily targeting violet species and other host plants within their habitat range.
The biological life cycle of these insects consists of four distinct stages: egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa, and adult (imago). The larvae are specialized feeders.
