Description
The genus Calopteryx, commonly known as demoiselles, belongs to the order Odonata and the family Calopterygidae. In the field of agronomy, it is critical to distinguish between actual pests and beneficial predatory species. Unlike herbivorous insects, Calopteryx does not consume plant tissues or damage crops.
The biology of these damselflies is tied to aquatic ecosystems. The life cycle consists of egg, nymph (naiad), and adult stages.
