Great white shark

The great white shark (lat. Carcharodon carcharias) belongs to the order Lamniformes, family Lamnidae. As a strictly marine apex predator, it maintains no interaction with agricultural ecosystems. In professional agronomy, this species is not classified as a plant pest or a pathogen, as its biological requirements are entirely confined to oceanic habitats.

This species does not cause any damage to agricultural crops, including cereals, vegetables, or fruits. Its dietary habits are strictly carnivorous, focusing on marine mammals and fish. Because the organism requires high salinity and specific deep-water conditions to survive, it cannot inhabit or affect soil, greenhouses, or any cultivated land area.

The biology and lifecycle of Carcharodon carcharias are governed by oceanic currents and complex reproductive behaviors in marine environments. The gestation period and growth stages of these sharks are fundamentally incompatible with the ecological niches occupied by terrestrial crops. There is no intersection between the development of this predator and the phenology of agricultural plants.

There is no record of damage caused by this species to field crops or horticultural systems. It lacks the physiological capability to interact with botanical structures, as it is a highly specialized marine organism. Consequently, the concept of "harmfulness" regarding agricultural productivity is completely inapplicable to this species.

Farmers operating in coastal regions should focus their pest control strategies on common terrestrial arthropods, weeds, and diseases that directly impact crop yields.
