Description

Carvalhoia is a genus of plant bugs belonging to the family Miridae (order Hemiptera). The primary host plants for Carvalhoia species include cocoa trees and various oil-bearing shrubs. By piercing the plant tissues and feeding on sap, these bugs disrupt the vascular system of the host, leading to reduced vitality and significant yield losses in commercial plantations.
