The genus Chelaseius belongs to the family Phytoseiidae within the order Mesostigmata. While many members of this family are recognized as predators, certain populations or specific conditions can lead to interactions that necessitate careful management in agricultural environments to ensure the health and productivity of cultivated plants.

This mite species primarily affects crops grown in greenhouses and protected environments.
