Cholodkovskya is a genus of insects within the family Aphididae, belonging to the order Hemiptera. These aphids are specialized pests that primarily target coniferous trees, specifically species within the Larix (larch) genus, making them a significant concern for forestry and horticulture.

The insects feed by piercing plant tissues and extracting sap from needles and young shoots. This process depletes the plant's resources, leading to stunted growth and reduced vigor. Continuous feeding can severely impact the health of both young saplings and mature trees.

The life cycle of this pest is highly synchronized with the phenology of its host tree. Overwintering occurs in the egg stage, typically positioned on the bark or near bud scales. As spring temperatures rise, the eggs hatch, and the nymphs begin their development on the emerging needles.
