The black leafhopper (Cicadella nigra) belongs to the order Hemiptera and the family Cicadellidae. It is recognized as a significant agricultural pest that affects various crops, including cereals, forage grasses, and some horticultural species. This pest is primarily found feeding on the foliage of its host plants. By using its specialized piercing-sucking mouthparts, it extracts plant sap, which is the primary nutrient source for both nymphs and adults.
