Clinodiplosis is a genus of small flies belonging to the family Cecidomyiidae (gall midges), within the order Diptera. These insects are widely recognized in agricultural entomology as specialized plant pests. Their larvae feed on plant tissues, often causing significant disruption to the development of various horticultural and field crops.
The host range of Clinodiplosis is quite extensive. It is known to infest a variety of plants, including ornamental flowers, vegetables, and field crops. Certain species are particularly problematic in greenhouse environments, where stable temperatures allow for continuous generations throughout the growing season.
