Coccidohystrix is a genus of insects within the family Pseudococcidae (mealybugs), belonging to the order Hemiptera. These small sap-sucking pests pose a significant threat to a variety of tropical and subtropical plants, characterized by their high reproductive potential and cryptic behavior.

The pest affects a wide range of crops, including fruit trees, ornamental shrubs, and indoor plants. Citrus, figs, grapevines, and various succulent species are most frequently affected by these insects, making them a major concern for both commercial orchards and greenhouse operations.

The life cycle of Coccidohystrix involves several larval stages.
