Coccidoxenoides peregrinus is a specialized insect parasitoid belonging to the order Hymenoptera and the family Encyrtidae. Contrary to being a plant pest, this species is a highly valuable biological control agent. The primary host for this parasitoid is the citrus mealybug (Planococcus citri).
