These insects are primarily associated with coniferous trees, such as spruce, pine, and fir. They inhabit the needles and twigs, where they successfully navigate the dense foliage to fulfill their life cycle requirements throughout the warmer months of the year.
The biological cycle of this species consists of complete metamorphosis, including egg, larval, pupal, and adult stages. They typically overwinter as pupae enclosed in a protective, silk-like cocoon tucked away within the deep crevices of tree bark, ensuring survival through harsh winter conditions.
