The dog flea (Ctenocephalides canis) belongs to the order Siphonaptera, family Pulicidae. It is important to emphasize that this species is not an agricultural pest. Its biological adaptation is exclusively associated with blood-feeding on mammals, particularly domestic dogs and wild canids.
There is no scientific evidence to classify Ctenocephalides canis as a threat to flora. These insects lack the mouthparts necessary for plant tissue consumption. Furthermore, their developmental niche is restricted to organic debris in animal bedding or carpet fibers, where they find the specific conditions needed for larval growth.
