Important clarification: Contrary to common misconceptions, Dacnusa sibirica is not a plant pest but a highly efficient parasitic wasp used as a key biological control agent against leaf miner larvae (Agromyzidae family), which infest various greenhouse vegetable crops.

Belonging to the order Hymenoptera and the family Braconidae, this small wasp acts as a specialized parasitoid. It plays a crucial role in agricultural ecosystems by keeping populations of destructive leaf miners under natural control without the need for synthetic chemical applications.

The lifecycle of this insect is strictly synchronized with the leaf miner host.
