Dascillus is a genus of beetles belonging to the family Dascillidae. While not always considered a primary agricultural pest, these insects can pose a threat to various crops when their larvae reach high population densities in the soil, significantly affecting plant health and overall agricultural productivity.

Taxonomically, the genus Dascillus is categorized under the order Coleoptera. Adult beetles are characterized by their robust bodies, often covered with fine setae. The most widely recognized species in this group is Dascillus cervinus, which is distributed across various temperate regions, where it inhabits fields, meadows, and forest edges.

The damage caused by Dascillus is primarily attributed to its larval stage.
