Description

The Dilobopterus genus belongs to the order Hemiptera and the family Cicadellidae. These leafhoppers are known as significant agricultural pests, particularly in tropical and subtropical zones, where they cause severe damage to perennial horticultural crops.

The primary hosts of this pest include citrus trees and coffee plants. By feeding on the plant's phloem, these insects deprive the host of essential nutrients, leading to reduced vigour, decreased fruit quality, and stunted development of the affected branches.

The biology of Dilobopterus involves a lifecycle consisting of eggs, nymphs, and adults. Nymphs and adults are typically found on the underside of leaves.
