Discestra is a genus of moths belonging to the family Noctuidae within the order Lepidoptera. As a group of insects, several species within this genus are recognized as significant pests in agriculture. The most notable species is the Nutmeg moth (Discestra trifolii), which is widely distributed across Eurasia and parts of North America, posing a threat to various herbaceous plants.

These pests are characterized as polyphagous, meaning their larvae feed on a wide range of host plants. They frequently target crops such as sugar beets, cabbage, peas, clover, alfalfa, and various cruciferous plants. The ability of the larvae to thrive on both cultivated crops and common field weeds makes them particularly resilient and difficult to manage throughout the growing season.
