Euderus cavasolae is a species of parasitic wasp belonging to the family Eulophidae within the order Hymenoptera. Although many members of this family are considered beneficial as biological control agents, this specific species is frequently studied due to its complex interactions with plant tissues and gall-forming insects that infest various crops.

The primary hosts for Euderus cavasolae are insects that cause gall formation on plants. By inhabiting these galls, the pest influences the development of its hosts and alters the physiology of the host plant. This relationship often results in increased plant stress and structural damage to foliage and developing shoots.

The life cycle of the insect consists of four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The female oviposits into the galls or the tissues surrounding the host larvae. The emerging larvae feed and develop within these enclosed spaces, completing their pupation phase protected inside the plant structures before emerging as adults to start a new cycle.

The presence of the insect often exacerbates the impact of primary gall-forming pests, leading to reduced plant vigor, photosynthetic capacity, and overall yield potential.
