Description
Eurystylus bellevoyei is a species of mirid bug (family Miridae, order Hemiptera) known for causing significant damage to agricultural crops. This pest is particularly noted for its impact on cotton production, where it can drastically reduce yields if left unmanaged.
The primary host for this bug is the cotton plant (Gossypium spp.). However, it has been observed feeding on various other plant species, especially those belonging to the Malvaceae and Leguminosae families. Both nymphs and adults utilize their piercing-sucking mouthparts to feed on plant juices, focusing their efforts on the reproductive structures of the plant.
