The white sand cutworm (Euxoa detersa) is a species of moth belonging to the family Noctuidae (order Lepidoptera). It is recognized as a significant agricultural pest, particularly known for its subterranean larvae, which can cause severe damage to various field crops by feeding on underground parts and seedling stems.
This species acts as a polyphagous feeder, targeting a wide variety of cultivated plants. Typical hosts include cereal crops like wheat and barley, as well as vegetables and root crops.
