Evarcha

The genus Evarcha belongs to the family Salticidae, commonly known as jumping spiders. These arachnids are exclusively predatory and do not cause damage to plant tissues. They are frequently found in gardens, orchards, and fields, where they play an essential role as natural pest controllers by hunting aphids, mites, and other small insects.

The biology of Evarcha is characterized by active hunting strategies. Unlike web-building spiders, they rely on their keen eyesight to track, stalk, and leap upon their prey. They are highly mobile and adaptable to various plant environments, often choosing sunny leaves and stems to warm up and search for food.
