Feltia repleta belongs to the Noctuidae family within the order Lepidoptera. Known as a cutworm moth, it is a significant agricultural pest that primarily thrives in environments with loose soil and dense vegetation. Adult moths are typically nocturnal and possess cryptic coloration that helps them remain unnoticed during daylight hours.

This species is highly polyphagous, meaning it feeds on a diverse range of host plants. Economically important crops such as potatoes, tomatoes, tobacco, and various cereals are particularly susceptible to their attacks. The ability to switch between host plants ensures the survival of the population even in fields with crop rotation patterns.

The life cycle involves four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The larval stage is the most destructive phase. After hatching, the caterpillars hide in the soil or under surface debris during the day, emerging at night to feed. They are known as "cutworms" because they typically sever the stems of young plants just above or below the soil line, causing the plant to collapse and wither. In mature plants, they may tunnel into roots or stalks, which ruins the marketability of crops like potatoes and reduces overall plant vigor.
