Ferrariana is a genus of insects belonging to the order Hemiptera and the family Cicadellidae (leafhoppers). These pests are characterized by their specialized mouthparts, known as a rostrum, which are designed for piercing plant tissues and extracting sap. As members of the Cicadellinae subfamily, they are recognized for their agility and their significant impact on both ornamental and agricultural plant health.

These insects primarily infest a variety of plant hosts, including legumes, fruit trees, and various shrubs. They are most commonly found on the undersides of leaves and on succulent young stems where they can feed with minimal resistance. Their host range is often broad, allowing them to thrive in diverse environments ranging from residential gardens to large-scale agricultural production fields.

The life cycle of Ferrariana involves incomplete metamorphosis, progressing through egg, nymph, and adult stages. Females typically deposit their eggs into the plant tissue, such as leaf petioles or soft stems.
