Biology and life cycle
The life cycle of Forda is complex, involving host alternation between primary woody hosts and secondary herbaceous hosts. Spring migrants colonize young pistachio leaves, inducing gall development. Later in the season, the aphid population migrates to the roots of various grasses, where they continue to reproduce parthenogenetically until the next season.

The impact of this pest on pistachio cultivation is severe. Infested trees suffer from reduced vigor, lower nut quality, and diminished yields.
