The walnut nut moth (scientific name Garella musculana) is a destructive pest belonging to the order Lepidoptera and the family Nolidae. This insect is primarily known for its harmful impact on various nut-bearing trees, specifically targeting young growth and developing buds, which can significantly affect tree health.

The primary host for Garella musculana is the walnut tree. During their life cycle, the larvae feed on the tender tissues of the plant, including newly emerged leaves, shoots, and sometimes young fruit.
