Description
Systematic position. The Double Dart (Graphiphora augur) belongs to the order Lepidoptera, family Noctuidae. This insect is a typical polyphagous species capable of adapting to various environmental conditions and feeding on a diverse range of host plants.
Host range. The pest is characterized by high ecological plasticity. The larvae feed on a wide spectrum of plants, including fruit trees, berry bushes, vegetable crops, and various wild grasses. Among the most frequently damaged hosts are apple trees, raspberries, currants, and various weed species that serve as reservoirs for the pest.
Biology and life cycle. The insect typically completes one generation per year. Late-stage larvae overwinter in the soil or under plant debris.
