Halictoxenos is a genus of insects within the order Strepsiptera (twisted-wing parasites) that primarily parasitize bees of the genus Halictus. While these organisms do not feed on plant tissues, they are recognized in agronomy as significant biological factors that negatively impact crop yield by compromising the health and efficiency of essential bee pollinators.
Pollinators belonging to the family Halictidae are vital for the successful fruit set of numerous crops, including legumes, sunflowers, and horticultural varieties.
