Halticoptera is a genus of parasitic wasps belonging to the family Pteromalidae (order Hymenoptera). In agricultural systems, these insects are recognized primarily as beneficial parasitoids that play a crucial role in controlling populations of leaf-mining flies (Agromyzidae), which are significant pests of various commercial vegetables and ornamental plants.

Taxonomically, the genus Halticoptera is part of the Pteromalidae family. These wasps are specialized hunters, specifically adapted to locate and infest the larval stages of dipteran pests.
