Cotton jassid

Jacobiella facialis, commonly referred to as the cotton jassid, is a significant insect pest belonging to the order Hemiptera and the family Cicadellidae. It is recognized globally as a primary threat to cotton production, where its feeding habits cause direct mechanical damage and physiological stress to the host plants throughout the growing season.

The host range of this insect is quite extensive, although it shows a marked preference for cotton crops. Beyond its main host, it may inhabit various garden vegetables and leguminous plants, acting as a bridge pest that persists across different cropping cycles.
