The Largid bug (genus Largus) belongs to the family Largidae within the order Hemiptera. These insects are characterized by their vibrant warning colors and complex life cycles. They are widely distributed across various habitats, often becoming pests in both residential gardens and agricultural landscapes where they feed on a variety of host plants.

These pests are polyphagous, meaning they feed on a wide range of botanical species. They are particularly drawn to succulent plant tissues, including young foliage, stems, and fruits. While they often target weeds, they readily migrate to ornamental crops, fruit-bearing shrubs, and vegetable seedlings once their primary food sources become scarce.
