The genus Macrosiphum belongs to the Aphididae family within the order Hemiptera. These aphids are recognized by their relatively large size and elongated, tubular structures known as siphunculi (cornicles) on their abdomen. They are common agricultural and horticultural pests found globally.
Macrosiphum species are highly polyphagous, meaning they feed on a wide variety of plants. When infestations exceed economic thresholds, growers should utilize targeted insecticides, including systemic and contact agents.
