Manta (Manta) belongs to a group of lesser-known pests that pose a potential threat to agricultural crops. Systematically, this object is classified within the order Lepidoptera, family Noctuidae, which determines its survival strategy and the type of damage inflicted. Identifying this pest requires professional expertise, as it can often be misidentified as other noctuid species during early developmental stages.

The range of crops affected by this pest is broad, primarily including vegetables and industrial crops. Most damage occurs during periods of active vegetative growth, when larvae feed on the succulent tissues of leaves and stems. The pest is particularly dangerous in protected ground conditions, where the microclimate facilitates accelerated generation cycles and an increase in overall population density.

The biology and lifecycle of the pest include four standard stages: egg, larva, pupa, and imago. Adult individuals are primarily nocturnal, which complicates visual monitoring of fields.
