Crops affected: The pest primarily targets fruit trees, berry bushes, and certain ornamental species. It prefers to colonize trees with compromised bark or structural weakness, turning these plants into hosts for their larvae and adult activity, which further exacerbates the decline of the plant’s health.

Biology and life cycle: This insect undergoes complete metamorphosis consisting of four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult.
