Description

The wheat stem sawfly braconid (Microbracon cephi) is a parasitic wasp belonging to the order Hymenoptera and the family Braconidae. It is widely recognized in agronomy as a significant natural enemy of the wheat stem sawfly, a destructive pest of cereal crops.

This species primarily targets larvae of sawflies infesting wheat, barley, and rye. As an ectoparasitoid, it plays a vital role in reducing the number of larvae that bore into stems, thereby protecting the structural integrity of the crop and preventing yield losses caused by premature lodging.
